Walking With Purpose: Why the Idaho Lupus Walk Matters to Us
Sworn Loyal Tees • Community News
Sworn Loyal Tees was founded to be more than a T-shirt company. From the beginning, one of our goals has been to use this business to give back to the community that supports us. Sometimes that means creating a shirt for a cause. Sometimes it means showing up. And sometimes, when the cause belongs to someone we love, it becomes deeply personal.
That is exactly how we feel about the upcoming Walk to End Lupus Now in Idaho and our friend Jean Wolford.
Jean's Story: More Than Three Decades With Lupus
Jean was diagnosed with lupus in 1994. For more than three decades, she has lived with an invisible disease that has affected nearly every part of her life. Lupus can attack healthy tissues and organs and can affect the brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, skin, joints, blood, and more. No two people experience lupus in exactly the same way, which can also make the disease difficult to diagnose and understand.
Jean's journey has included countless hospital stays, major surgeries, blood clots, chronic pain, autoimmune complications, medications with difficult side effects, and long recoveries. There have been times when simply getting out of bed felt like climbing a mountain.
But Jean refuses to let lupus define her. Instead, she has turned her experience into purpose: advocating, educating, and supporting others living with lupus so that no one has to feel alone.
Bringing the Walk to Idaho
Last year, Jean and the lupus community made history by bringing the first Walk to End Lupus Now to Idaho. The community came together to raise awareness, support research, raise funds, and stand alongside Idahoans living with lupus.
This year's walk is growing even bigger. Every registration, donation, sponsor, and volunteer helps move the lupus community toward better treatments, earlier diagnosis, improved quality of life, and, one day, a cure.
Jean organizes this walk because she understands what it feels like to wonder whether anyone truly understands. She knows what it is like to smile through pain, and she knows what it is like to hope that research will bring better answers for future generations. The walk gives that hope a voice.
Why Sworn Loyal Tees Got Involved
Jean is our friend, and supporting the people we care about is exactly the kind of community involvement Sworn Loyal Tees was created for. We believe a small business can do more than sell products. It can help bring people together, amplify important stories, and put resources back into the communities and causes that matter.
That is why we created our featured Lupus Collection. A portion of sales from the collection goes back to Lupus Warriors of Idaho to help support our loved ones throughout Idaho who are living with lupus.
These shirts are more than something to wear to the walk. They are a visible way to stand with lupus warriors, start conversations, raise awareness, and remind people facing this disease that they are not fighting alone.
Shop the Lupus Collection
The Sworn Loyal Tees Lupus Collection is available on our website now and will remain available through September 30.
IMPORTANT FOR WALK DAY: If you would like to have your shirt in time for the September 19 walk, please place your order by September 7.
September 19: Walking Together
On September 19, Jean will walk not only for herself, but for every lupus warrior, every family affected by the disease, everyone we have lost, and everyone who is still fighting.
Whether you have lupus, love someone with lupus, or simply believe no one should have to fight alone, there is a place for you in this community. Together, we can create awareness, inspire hope, support meaningful research, and make a lasting difference.
We are proud to stand beside Jean, Lupus Warriors of Idaho, and every Idaho family touched by lupus. We hope you will stand — and walk — with us.
